information Name: Hendrik Sandler. Nickname: N/A. Age: 18. Date of Birth: November 4, 1980. Zodiac: Scorpio. Eyes: Hazel. Hair: Blond. Religion: Atheist. Affiliation: Neutral. Abilities: Concussive and explosive energy. If he does not form the energy into a shape (typically a ball) and then allow it to explode outside of his body, he will end up possibly permanently injuring his body. Thus, he cannot channel the energy into blowing something up at once because it will only serve to injure him in the long run. personality Competitive, ambitious, and entitled—these words describe Hendrik in the best way. He has the capacity of coming across as someone who’s growing beyond his lower upbringing, but because of this bad upbringing, he feels as if he has every right to have paths open up to him in the world. He’s determined and ambitious, allowing his intense nature to guide him through every path. He doesn’t acquire many attachments because of this, but he still immerses himself among people because he sees the usefulness behind the activity. Some people are more attractive as companions than others. Mostly, people who stand on the outside of society and make their own way. Hendrik feels as if he’s more connected with those individuals, more capable of finding friendship and companionship in their existences. Hendrik isn’t the most subtle of individuals. He’s moody and comes across as spoiled, even if he’s never been spoiled in his life. When he’s mad at someone, he’ll sit around and argue with them and poke at them and try to pick out their worst flaws. When he wants to get his way, he’ll twist someone’s words in order to get what he wants. He’s usually very aggressive in his actions, but if he’s not getting his way, he’ll turn passive aggressive, preferring that approach in order to make someone bend to his needs. He feels as if he’s probably one of the most manipulative people in the world and is quite good at it, even if that’s a lie. His sense of humor is usually based off making fun of other people. He can come across as quite happy and jovial when he’s mocking someone. His arrogance and entitlement complex tends to get the best of him sometimes, so when someone points out that he has a problem with this, he’ll probably attack that someone instead. Any flaws are open game for Hendrik. If someone is unattractive, he’ll call them that. If someone is stupid or got a question wrong in class, he won’t let go of it. He’s vindictive and willing to do anything possible to advance himself, and it connects to his messed up sense of humor. There are only a few things that will make him less self-serving. His brother and sister are one. And if someone earns his friendship? That’s another. He has the ability to be amicable and actually come across as impressively determined, but he’s also mean-spirited and it does get the best of him. At least he’s intelligent. But then again, he lets his intelligence get the best of him, as well. appearance Hendrik stands at the height of five-foot-eight and he’s rather skinny. He doesn’t come across as much of a fighter. He has blond hair and hazel eyes (the eye color thanks to his father) and pale skin. Most of his clothing is darker but clean. He doesn’t dress professionally, but he still makes sure that he looks better than other people around him. His shirts tend to cling to his torso and he probably spends quite a bit of time on his hair in the morning in order to ensure his “better” appearance. The only problem is that because of the energy he releases through his hands, his fingers sometimes appear bruised because of the wear and tear. His disposition has a tendency to cross over into his appearance. When he’s in a good mood, he looks smug. His head is tilted back and he sits with his legs stretched out in front of him. When he’s in a foul mood, he’ll slouch, choosing to brush off everyone else while he enters his own bitter state of sorrow. Even in this state, he’ll still make a point of watching people around him, as if he needs to feed himself by hurting other people with insults. history Hendrik is the third of three children born to Juliane Sandler. He’s the son of Karl Tonkel, an accountant in Berlin who appeared to have a heart for Hendrik’s mother and the intelligence to prove to be a good father. However, upon learning that she was pregnant with her third child, and coincidentally his son, he ended up leaving her. This was the third time this happened to Juliane, putting her in a position where she would end up having to raise a third child on a very small income (which she was managing to do just barely before with the two previous children). Hendrik and his siblings, Mariele and Oliver, managed grew up together in a small flat. Their mother, a woman who had little sense of responsibility, was rarely around, and their neighbor Hans spent most of his time making sure they were clothed and off to school. Multiple times Oliver, the middle child, asked why Hans wasn’t their father. It appeared that it would have made the most sense, but there was no interest toward the man by their mother, as she appeared to only like ambitious, professional men who could support her children. She never quite got the hint that this kind of man was also most likely to abandon her child because he wasn’t going to weight himself down with three children and an irresponsible woman. As a result, all three children learned most of their important parts of life from Hans. Hans told them to do homework, Hans made sure they didn’t stay up too late, and Hans made sure they knew the importance of school. “School,” he always told them, “will be the way to making something out of yourselves.” All three children went to school and made it look as much like their mother did not neglect them. Hans, on multiple occasions, even covered for the siblings as they were growing up. It was around the age of twelve when Mariele first came into special abilities—flight—but she only allowed Hendrik to know about it. She told him that this was because she wanted to fly around the world. Oliver never came into any powers, but around the same age—and right before Mariele left to pursue flight school, there was a small accident while Hendrik was cooking. He told Mariele that he accidentally blew up the microwave, and then two seconds later, he did it again. It didn’t take him long to realize that the pain coursing through his hand was a sign of him allowing the energy to explode while still connected to him. Mariele made Hendrik promise that he would say he accidentally put a fork in the microwave (even if the growing more haughty boy did not want to say he did anything so ridiculous) and that would be the end of that. As time passed, Hendrik came to understand his powers more and started to understand his placement in the world (or so he believed). He has a bit of a superiority complex when it comes to his powers, as he’s grown to realize that if he wanted to, he could destroy every large parts of the city—or even people. Now that he’s in university, Hendrik is using his ambition for the field of biology (molecular biology, to be more precise). He wants to be famous in the field one day, and feels entitled. A part of him isn’t afraid of anyone or anything that gets in his way. ooc information Hendrik is the character of Alison ( |
